Philosophy of Short-Term Projects

Why short-term open projects?

· Jesus said GO! This applies to the entire church, not just “career” missionaries.
· 40 Million Global Peoples have limited access to the Gospel. “Missions exist because worshipers do not.” John Piper.
· Many current career missionaries were called to full-time service after experiencing a short-term trip.

nicaraguan girlWhat makes a CATALYST short-term project different?

· We use pre-screened contacts only. We will give you lots of background on the missionary and project. While surprises are part of any short-term trip, you will be properly briefed and know what to expect.
· We do pre-training, field training, and post training. God will change you when you see Him at work, and we want His scripture to guide your change. Our mission trips are designed with discipleship in mind.
· We believe in the “Paul-Timothy” mentoring model. We are always looking to develop future leaders for God’s mission work.
· We believe God calls long-term missionaries to the field to help make long-term change. Therefore, we will yield to the field missionary’s vision. We will not take teams to places to run things the “American way”…this is not effective, and is not Biblical!
· We will partner with indigenous missionaries that are using/having connection to an existing U.S. office or partner.
