Catalyst helps churches engage in God's mission to all peoples

The church is God's answer for the world. God has called out a people to make His name known among all the peoples of the world. But, engaging in God's mission to all peoples can be a daunting task. Where should we start? How do pastors mobilize the people? What should we do with the resources God has entrusted to His church? Catalyst Missions exists to help mobilize churches for God's mission.

Catalyst Missions helps mobilize churches for God's mission by connecting them with indigenous leaders and prepared training sites in the Global South. We provide intensive training for those who will go on the field to train or serve in another practical capacity as well as direction on how to invest resources most effectively for maximum impact. Catalyst also partners to help develop the missional vision of the church. Our goal is both to provide on-ground, indigenous leaders with precise theological and methodological training as well as to engage stateside churches in long-term discipleship that will clarify and enhance missional engagement both locally and internationally.

Churches often get involved by adopting projects. This entails three things: praying as a church for the adopted project, giving to support the project budget, and going as the church is able to participate in the training.

Method for Engaging in God's Mission

The key to God's mission is indigenous leaders. Right now, of the 2.2 million evangelical churches worldwide (particularly in the Global South: South America, Africa and Southern Asia), 80% have pastors with no training. Without proper training for leaders, Christianity remains only a surface level religion, often syncretized with other worldviews. Our goal is to follow the model of Jesus and Paul in equipping leaders for the purpose of spreading the gospel into unreached peoples. As an example, when Paul sought to reach Asia, he poured his life into disciples at the school of Tyrannus for 2 years with the result that all of Asia heard the word of the Lord (Acts 19:8-10). For this reason, we believe that in the Global South, the greatest need is to equip local, indigenous leaders who will carry the gospel to their own people and beyond. The training curriculum includes nine modules, encompassing theological and methodological formation, totaling roughly 3 years of instruction. Over 7,000 ethnic people groups remain unreached with the gospel. If we continue training indigenous leaders, we believe we will see the biblical result.
